Jacqueline Oliveira

Jacqueline Oliveira was born in Hong Kong and raised in a multicultural (Eurasian) household in California. Jacqueline has extensive experience in training of management, supervisory and support personnel in cross-cultural communication, diversity and inclusion, international relocation, and quality systems. She has been a member of the intercultural team at Charis Intercultural Training since 1995 and is the Director of Global Teams Practices. She has trained teams at Abbott Laboratories, SanDisk and Toyota to assess and build trust across their differences, improve virtual communication, and apply best practices to become high performing teams. She has delivered training for Charis in Ireland, Poland, Canada, and across the U.S. for Fortune 100 companies that want to build high performing global and multicultural teams as a strategic advantage.
She received her B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and her M.A. Intercultural Management from the School of International Training in Vermont. She has worked in the legal field as a researcher for international contract negotiations and specializes in mediation across cultures, and the cultural aspects of sexual harassment in the work place.
She is a prolific and insightful writer, the author of Spotlight Brazil, and Spotlight China, handbooks for businesspeople working in those countries, plus articles on doing business in Russia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and the Netherlands. In addition to her work with Charis, Jacqueline teaches classroom and virtual courses at University of California Santa Barbara Extension and Antioch University on global business and management. Jacqueline resides in southern California.
