Robert Day M.A. United Kingdom Consultant

Robert Day, M.A., conducts intercultural management consulting, teambuilding, and expatriate training programs for executives and senior managers on doing business in Europe, with a specialization in British business practices and the inter-European relations for multicultural offices based in Britain. He has been Charis' London representative since 1990 and provided training for expatriates from Intel, Apple Computer, Uniphase, Etec Systems, Sun Microsystems, Solectron and consultation for American Express. He has successfully conducted teambuilding sessions for other high tech clients who needed critical communication among field service and sales offices in multiple European locations. His work with Eastern Europeans, Japanese, Malaysians and Singaporeans gives him first hand experience, as well as the intercultural communication theory, to successfully work with global organizational issues.

Originally from Connecticut, U.S.A., Mr. Day provides insights to working with Americans for European managers, as well. Mr. Day was Training & Development Manager for Hitachi Data Systems, Ltd. in the U.K. for 8 years where he established HRD strategy and conducted management and sales training throughout Europe. Prior to his European experience, Bob managed all phases of management development programs at National Semiconductor Corp. in Santa Clara, California and at Bechtel Power Corp. of San Francisco in the early 1980’s. His formal education includes M.A. Education from U.C. Berkeley; C.D.M.A.V. from L’Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris; and B.A. History and French from Yale. He speaks English and French, and conversational Spanish.
