Sue Shinomiya M.B.A. Japan Consultant

Sue Kallenbach-Shinomiya, M.B.A. International Business, has been a consultant for intercultural communication and training to multinational companies for over 15 years. As an expatriate to Japan for eight years, Ms. Shinomiya is very familiar with cultural adjustment and the keys to successfully working and living in another culture, and participating in geographically dispersed teams. During that time, she managed intercultural training at a semiconductor company's Japan site and integrated successful interfaces between U.S. and Japanese teams. She has worked with such global companies as Hitachi, NEC, Dell, Motorola, and Applied Materials for successful international business relations.

Since 1999, Ms. Shinomiya has conducted U.S. inpatriate programs for over 100 employees and their spouses assigned to the greater Portland, Oregon area. These assignees have come from a range of countries including Japan, Israel, Singapore, India, England, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Finland, Mexico, and Canada. A native of California, she has lived in Portland, Oregon for the last five years, and provides Oregon and Washington insights for assignees to these areas. She is an author and frequent presenter on intercultural communication in business, and she is fluent in English and Japanese.
